What is Suboxone Addiction?
Suboxone is a drug with properties similar to opiate and are used to treat withdrawal symptoms for individuals who are treating heroin or Methadone addictions. Suboxone is also addictive, numerous patients are unable to limit their usage of the drug after initial exposure. These individuals stay on the drug for an extensive period of time and find it difficult to relinquish its use.
Numerous patients are seen at the Nova Vitae Treatment Center to treat Suboxone addictions. While some patients can detox off the drug, it can be extremely difficult for others. Similar to Methadone, serious withdrawal symptoms can develop even after patients have relinquished Suboxone use for an extended period of time.
How can Suboxone Detox Help?
Post-Acute Withdrawal Syndrome (PAWS) is highly common for Suboxone and can last for months. The Nova Vitae Treatment Center carries effective treatment methods for detoxification from Suboxone. Accelerated Detox can be successful for patients who have even had large doses of the drug. This treatment can be performed over a week. After successful detoxification, a Naltrexone implant can be provided to assist in recovery.
Naltrexone implants influence the opiate receptors in the brain to reduce cravings and potential withdrawal symptoms. They last for six to twelve weeks, providing patients enough time to be permanently free from the use of Suboxone.
