What is Benzodiazepine?
Benzodiazepine is a frequently prescribed depressant medication that is highly vulnerable to abuse and misuse. Various types of benzodiazepine medications exist to treat physical and psychological health problems. Benzodiazepine delivers the following effects: anxiety relief, hypnotism, muscle relaxation, anti-convulsant, and mild memory loss. The sedative properties of benzodiazepines make them a high risk for abuse.
Low doses of benzodiazepine cause a number of side effects such as confusion, depression, vertigo, tremors, and constipation. High doses result in symptoms such as euphoria, mood swings, slowed reflexes, and erratic behavior. Those who develop an addiction to benzodiazepine often have used the medication for more than six months.
How can Detox and Inpatient Treatment Help?
To counteract the effects of high doses of benzodiazepines , physicians only administer the medication in small doses or use another benzodiazepine to cancel out the effects. Withdrawal may occur if a period of high dosage has been abruptly stopped. To reduce the effects of withdrawal, the amount of medication ingested is reduced so the individual will not experience discomfort.
The Nova Vitae Treatment Center provides treatments for prescription drug addictions through consistent counseling sessions and medical care. If an addiction to benzodiazepine occurs in your life or a loved one’s, please contact our office today.

Important Steps to Addiction Rehabilitation
Treatment Programs
“Inpatient” then means that the patient needs to be admitted to an addiction treatment center for therapy and detox, typically because he/she needs to be closely monitored.
Intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) are treatment programs used to address addictions, depression, eating disorders, or other dependencies that do not require detoxification or round-the-clock supervision.
Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is the use of medications in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies, which is effective in the treatment of opioid use disorders (OUD) and can help some people to sustain recovery.
Outpatient rehab is a form of alcohol or drug rehabilitation that allows patients to live at home (or in another safe and therapeutic environment, such as sober living)
Partial hospitalization provides a structured program of outpatient psychiatric services as an alternative to inpatient psychiatric care.
Sober living houses (SLHs) are alcohol and drug free living environments for individuals attempting to abstain from alcohol and drugs
A men’s rehab program is dedicated to helping men overcome drug and alcohol addiction.
Through gender-specific treatment, Redemption Addiction Treatment Center helps address key issues and obstacles that women face in their early recovery.
